The quilters at Nazareth Lutheran Church donated 20 quilts to the Owen-Withee Elementary Angel Tree, which will make heartfelt gifts to the many families that will receive them. +++ The Thorp Fantasy Craft Bazaar was another outstanding success. The event, held for over 33 years, seems to get larger each year. One of the featured vendors was Tessys Popcorn Delights that originates out of the Stanley Theater.

The Clark County Press

Christmas came early for a number of Loyal organizations that received $10,000 checks from the Loyal Economic Development Corporation (LEDC). Among the organizations receiving checks were the House of Mercy Women and Children’s Shelter, Loyal Chamber of Commerce, Loyal American Legion, Loyal Area Historical Society, Loyal Lions Club and Tractors for Autism and Disabilities. LEDC decided to use its fund balance to help local organization’s, as it plans to disband in the next three or four years. +++ At their November 15 meeting, the Neillsville School Board approved a bid, for purchasing and installing two new boilers for the school's fieldhouse. The new bid, from Com plete Control, is for $131,090 and includes the boilers purchase and installation.

Tri-County – Area Times

The Augusta Library was one of 29 libraries throughout Wisconsin, which have received grant funding to enrich their collections with new titles, that will enable patrons to deepen their understanding of East Asia, which includes China, Japan and Korea. The award came from the Center for East Asia Studies at the University of Wisconsin. +++ On Saturday, December 3, several Tri-County events were held. A Cookie Walk was held at the United Church of Christ in Osseo and the large Fall Creek Christmas Community Fair took place at the Fall Creek Area Fire Hall.

Trempealeau County Times

Both the Whitehall and Independence School Districts are looking at possibly establishing day care centers under school auspices. Both districts have parents asking for this service, due to lack of local private providers. +++ With neighbor's dogs be ing an issue, a next door neighbor built an illegal fence – to high and encroaching on the public right away.
