At their Monday, September 12, the Osseo City Council approved the bid of $5.14 million to construct a new water treatment plant in that city. R.J. Jurowski Construction Company, Whitehall submitted the low bid.+++ Fall Creek fireman, Kyle Molldenhauer represented his department during the honorary stair climb of 110 stories held at Lambeau Field on Patriot’s Day, September 11. +++ It’s in the books as a 2-0 forfeit win, but Fall Creek would have preferred winning their first game of the sea son in 2021 in stirring, passionate style, upending Stanley-Boyd on Schultz Field turf Friday, September 10, their homecoming.

Trempealeau County Times

A Trempealeau County Committee is recommending an alignment of board supervisors that could affect eight of the 17 board members. +++ A new community center has officially opened in Blair. The church, formerly known as First Lutheran Church, has now been transferred to a new non-profit organization known as Friendship First Foundation, Inc. The Foundation’s mission is to provide space and programming for the benefit and development of the Blair Community. The former church has been renamed Friendship First Community Center and will be providing a spectrum of programming that is social and educational, to arts and entertainment.

The Mondovi Fire Department has been awarded an Assis- tance to Firefighters Grant in excess of $319,000, which will cover most of the cost of a new 3,000 gallon tank/tender truck. The new unit will replace a nearly 40 year old unit. The Mondovi Fire Department has 31 members and serves 240 square miles of rural area, with a population of 6,000. +++ Buffalo County is reporting a COVID-19 vaccination rate of 54%, having at least one dose. Three school vaccination clinics are being held in local schools before the end of September – Mondovi, Gilmanton and Cochrane-Fountain City.
