Stanley-Boyd fourth-grader Jacob Haas worked hard this week to add some color and brighten up downtown Stanley. When Jacob told his mom, Debbie Haas, owner of Debbie’s on Broadway that he wanted to plant a garden, they instead decided to bring some flowerpots downtown and fill them with flowers.
“He lit up, he was so excited,” his mom said. She remarked that Jacob loved every second of the process and picked out the flowers himself wanting to make it look “lively.”
The Stanley Chamber of Commerce is grateful for the Haas’s help and commented, “The Chamber enjoys partnering with the City of Stanley, Reit’s Garden Center, and the local businesses to put beautiful flowers out in the city each year. This year Debbie and her son, Jacob, did a great job helping out with the planting! We are grateful for their help, and we look forward to helping make the city beautiful for years to come!”
