The Stanley-Boyd Middle School/High School Archery teams have been on fire lately, with both teams taking home first-place finishes in recent competitions. The teams traveled to Augusta to compete on March 1st, and the results were nothing short of impressive. With numerous personal records (PRs) set across both high school and middle school divisions, the day was a huge success for the entire team. Then the teams traveled to Cashton on March 8th, where they put on an impressive display of skill and teamwork, securing 1st place finishes in both divisions.
At Augusta
High School Team
The high school team delivered a strong performance, scoring a total of 3131 points, which earned them a 4th place finish out of 9 teams. They came within just 11 points of taking home their first-ever plaque for 3rd place. It was a close race, but the team is more motivated than ever to keep pushing forward and improving.
Some standout performances included:
• Sydney Gundlach with a personal best score of 279
• Allison Patten who scored 271
• Sydney Haas who shot a 256
• Natalie Liszewski with a 250
• Ace Walker who finished with 232
These PRs reflect the hard work and dedication the high school team has been putting in all season, and with such strong performances, the bullseye of success is well within reach!
Middle School Team
The middle school team had an incredible day at Augusta, scoring a total of 3202 points and taking 1st place out of 8 teams. Their dominant performance proved that they are a force to be reckoned with in the archery world.
Several middle school athletes also set personal records:
• Sam Nitz with a 277
• Bryson LaFlex who shot 267
• Kennedy Witt with a 255
• Harley Hinrichs scoring 256
• Kylee Kroeplin who posted a 246
• Aaron Johnson with a 253
• Parker Bates who scored 249
• Audrey Bucknell finishing with 226
Additionally, Lewis Lukes had an outstanding individual performance, shooting a 291 and securing 2nd place for middle school boys.
At Cashton
The Middle School team scored an impressive 3155 points, showcasing remarkable individual performances throughout the day. Several athletes set personal bests, including:
• Will Chwala with a score of 275
• Harley Hinrichs with a score of 271
• Kylee Kroeplin with a score of 264
• Samantha Gully with a score of 263
• Michael Toepfer
A special congratulations goes to Lewis Lukes, who scored an outstanding 291 and clinched the title of 1st place overall boy.
High School Team Dominates
The High School team also delivered an exceptional performance, scoring 3162 points. Several student-athletes set personal bests during the competition, including:
• Hailey Mateski with a score of 287
• Colton Winger with a score of 264
• Kaitlyn Liszewski with a score of 264
• Ace Walker with a score of 251
• Robert Sayles with a score of 233
Hailey Mateski took home the title of 1st place overall girl, a well-deserved recognition for her outstanding effort. Additionally, several other students earned top spots in the high school division:
• Derrick Lato scored 276 and took 2nd place overall high school boy.
• Sydney Gundlach scored 275 and claimed 2nd place overall high school girl.
• Macie Lukes scored 275 as well and secured 3rd place overall high school girl.
Both teams have shown incredible growth, and the future of S-B Archery looks bright as they continue to strive for improvement and success.
