The City of Stanley held its annual organizational meeting on April 22, immediately following the adjournment of the regular City Council meeting. The first order of business was the election of a City Council President for a one-year term. By majority paper ballot, Alderperson Mark Fitzsimmons was elected to the position. Mayor Mike Henke announced several appointments to City committees and commissions. James Ericksen, Rick Denzine, Jason Isenberger, and David Jankoski were appointed to the City’s Plan Commission, joining Council Members Josh Seidl and Mark Fitzsimmons. Ben Wald was appointed to both the Tourism Committee and the Board of Review, alongside Fitzsimmons and Seidl.
The current Tourism Committee members include Mayor Henke, Wayne Hove, Bob Allen, Al Haas, Ben Wald, and Palruben Patel.
Several positions remained unchanged:
• City Attorney – Weld Riley
• City Health Officer – Ethan Young
• Weed Commissioner – Stanley Police Department
• City Appraiser – Bowmar Appraisal
• City Building Inspector – Bill Chwala
The updated membership for the City’s standing committees is as follows:
• Finance: Mark Fitzsimmons, Josh Seidl, and Chairman Terry Metzger
• Parks & Cemetery: Laurie Foster, Jason Meyer, and Chairman Ben Wald
• Police & Fire: Aaron Dickson, Laurie Foster, and Chairman Keith Samuelson
• Health & Sanitation: Keith Samuelson, Terry Metzger, and Chairman Laurie Foster
• Public Works, Streets & Grounds: Chairman Jason Meyer, Josh Seidl, and Mark Fitzsimmons
• Zoning & Ordinance: Chairman Aaron Dickson, Terry Metzger, and Keith Samuelson
• Personnel: Jason Meyer, Ben Wald, and Chairman Josh Seidl
• City Buildings: Chairman Mark Fitzsimmons, Ben Wald, and Aaron Dickson
