In partnership between the Stanley Community Association and Martino’s Restaurant we have given out the June “High Five Award.” This month’s award has been given to the committee and volunteers that help make the Community Table at Full Gospel Mission function. The Community Table offers free meals on Wednesday nights; it is currently on hold and will be starting up again in the fall. “It truly takes a team to make these dinners possible; from the volunteers who prepare and serve meals, deliver meals, wash dishes, and everything that goes into it. It started as providing meals for the kids that came on Wednesday nights and has just grown” Mayda Smith had only wonderful things to say about the volunteers that give their time to operate the Community Table. This group is made up of Full Gospel Mission Church members as well as members of other local Churches and community members. Their work has been noticed by the community and they have received this award with humbleness and gratitude. We are happy to award this month’s High Five Award to this great group of volunteers. They are a shining example of the traits we are highlighting with this award; being supportive, trustworthy, nurturing, loyal and extraordinary in action. Thank you for taking the time to help make Stanley a great city!
