The Stanley Common Council met Monday, March 2 in city hall, moving to approve payment to Market and Johnson in the amount of $755,881.03 for the Central Water Treatment Plant, as recommended by CBS Squared. The decision with motion by Wards 4 to 7 and 9 Alderperson Laurie Foster seconded by and Wards 1 and 8 Alderperson Mark Fitzsimmons allows the plant to stay on schedule.
Also approved Monday was a payment to Haas Sons Inc. In the amount of $95,046.55 for work on the Maple Street Reconstruction Project, as recommended by CBS Squared. Motion to approve the pay request from Haas was made by Foster seconded by Fitzsimmons.
Also from Monday, the council moved to approve accounts payable for March 2 in the amount of $1,004,753.85, with $77,413.55 paid from the general fund, $$104.99 from the library fund, $880,984.11 from the water fund, and $46,251.20 from the wastewater fund.
Finally from March 2, the city took report from audit firm Baker Tilly, which advised the city to adopt restricted funds while opening a short term line of credit to deal with expenses, also showing ability to pay the line of credit.
Stanley Council meetings are held the first and third Monday of each month in city hall. The public is welcome and invited to attend.
