Drive 4 UR Community raises $1,860

Funds to be used for Community Playground and Splash Pad

Back in September the Courtesy Ford teamed up with the Stanley Community Association (SCA) for a Drive 4UR Community event at the Chapman Park Community Center.

The event, part of a larger initiative by Ford dealerships to give back to their communities, saw Courtesy Ford make a $ 40 donation for each test drive and survey filled out by attendees, with $30 going to the SCA and $10 to the Stanley-Boyd Area Food Pantry.

Courtesy Ford employees and SCA members both helped staff the Drive 4UR Community event Sept. 12, with 62 test drives raising $1,860 for the SCA, to be used towards a new Community Playground and Splashpad, still in process. The Stanley-Boyd Area Food Pantry also received a donation from the event.

Martino’s Restaurant made a separate donation of its own for every whole pizza sold with their pizza trailer at the event.

Courtesy Ford presented a $1,860 check to the SCA on behalf of the Ford Motor Company.

“Ford only allows so many events per year and the SCA was selected this time,” Heather Williams said for Courtesy.

Stanley Community Association President Kristi Weiland shared what it would be used for.

“This will be applied to the funds for the Community Playground and Splash Pad,” Weiland said.
