School may be out, but the quest to maintain facilities is always in season. Speaking at the regular school board meeting June 23, Building and Grounds Supervisor Jamie Dusick updated the Stanley-Boyd Area School Board on current projects while school is out. A non-exhaustive list of school districts projects being worked on this summer include the following:
• Caulking and building envelope work
• Work on gutters at Oriole Park
• Lights installed on playground at request of Stanley Police in case of late night call
• Replacement of half the interior doors at Boyd
• New student desks being built
• Work on the school courtyard after shrubs were taken out last year
• Gym ceiling work
• Shop doors upgraded for R-value, and
• Air conditions in the lower elementary
Additionally, the school’s insurance company flagged the district on two old Edison panels necessitating their replacement, while a concrete pad was to be poured for the air conditioner.
In short, work continues at Stanley-Boyd.
