HOMEPLACE Happenings

This week our residents planted our seedlings outside the sun flowers and marigolds look very hardy but some of them didn’t make it thru our windy days. Better luck next year! Some of our residents helped plant our annual planters thru out the grounds of the homeplace, all the planters are beautiful, great job everybody! We are having issues with a chipmunk that is terrorizing our vegetables every morning our planters are dug up, our second round of onion sets are disappearing and we find our tomato plants on the ground, they are making it difficult but a little amusing as well.

June 3rd. was national doughnut day so residents and staff enjoy a donut. It was a great treat that everyone enjoyed. Thank you Kwik trip for filling our order.

The Homeplace celebrated two birthdays recently, Esther’s birthday was May 31st. and Bunny’s birthday was June 2nd. We celebrated with balloons, streamers, ice cream and cake. Happy birthday ladies!

Our next craft activity is canvas painting a flag with our residents and will display them on each level of the homeplace for everyone to enjoy.

Bingo was a lot of fun we played 10 regular bingo and 1 blackout game Esther won 3, Rita1, June 1, Lucille 1, Joann 1, Cindy 3 and Bunny won the blackout. We had a new caller this week she did an awesome job. Thank you Kim!

Our exercise activities classes are going good a few more people have joined with us and we are finishing our class with music, we have people dancing and they seem to enjoy themselves even if it’s just listening to the music, the songs themselves bring back good memories and others are entertained by watching us dance.
