Joe Davison has officially accepted the seat in Wards 1 - 8 vacated by Jerry Allen.
Winning in a coin toss and learning of the fact while on vacation, Davison is 42 years old and has lived 23 years in Stanley.
He has 18 years working in the trades as a tile setter building custom showers, with 13 years working for Design Tile and five as his own boss. Davison shared some more on how things went down regarding the council seat and why he accepted by email.
“After hearing of an open seat, a few friends decided to write me in,” he said. “I only heard of the coin toss decision after landing in Florida for a family vacation. I had a few days to think on it and decided I’d give it a shot. It’s important to know what’s happening in your community. If I can make a positive impact in ours, well, that’s great.”
