Library services in Stanley have been temporarily moved, pending construction at the Fourth Avenue site.
Starting Sept. 2 and continuing for several months, library resources will be housed at the Stanley Fire Station, located at 239 East First Avenue.
The move is being made to allow for completion of construction work in the historic building.
Library hours during the interim will limited to four days a week: Monday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Wednesday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Stanley Library Director Elizabeth Miniatt shared more on library services during this time.
“The library is currently offering copying/printing, internet and computer access, hold pick-up and returns, as well as several programs at our temporary location at the Stanley Fire Station,” she said. “The majority of our collection is in storage. We are very grateful to the City of Stanley and the Stanley Fire Department, especially Fire Chief Ron Patten, for generously sharing this space with us while the current library building is being restored. We hope to be able to move back into the library in a few months, but the timeline will depend on construction.”
