The Stanley Lions held their annual steak fry, with an installation of officers on Monday, June 12, at the Stanley Community Building in Chapman Park. Lions President Dave Jankoski welcomed Lions, their spouses, Past District Governor Larry and Lion Doris Bradley of Jim Falls, special guests who helped with the recent tree plantings and the spouses of deceased Stanley Lions. After the meal, organized by Lion Norm Christianson, with the meat cooked by Lion Chefs Gary Krueger, Adam Smit and Dave Winkler, a few announcements were made. Immediately following was the installation of new officers for 2023-2024 by the Past District Governor. Installed were President Julianna Lahner; 1st Vice-President Norman Christianson; Secretary Lorena McLoone; Treasurer Jerry Dirkes; Tail Twister Pat Jankoski; Lion Tamer Mary Jo Winkler; Immediate Past President Dave Jankoski and the Board of Directors consisting of Larry Ciokiewicz, Carl Edwardson, Gary Krueger and Dave Winkler.
After the installation, outgoing President Jankoski thanked the Lions, especially those who chaired the various activities during the past year, for their assistance and support. And finally. Jankoski noted that Betty Nenzel, spouse of long time Lion Clifford Nenzel, would have been married 75 years that day, and he thanked her for the donation she made to the Lions recognizing that milestone.
The July Lions meeting will be July10, 6 p. m. at Debbie’s on Broadway.
