Ringelspiel Days, sponsored by the Boyd Area Chamber of Commerce, is almost here! Ringelspiel, German for “merry-go-round”, kicks off Thursday evening with the Miss Boyd queen contest at 6 p.m at the Boyd Legion Hall. There are two young ladies vying for the crown.

“Spectrum Carnival” will be providing fun for all ages on the Midway starting Friday at 5pm through Sunday. Sales of the $20 advance price wrist bands began Tuesday May 16 and can be purchased at Northwestern Bank in Boyd, Town Mart, and Tolley’s Bowl and Bar.  They can also be purchased online at spectrumcarnival.com. Wrist bands will be $25 if purchased at the park during Ringelspiel. The St. Joseph food wagon will be on hand all weekend cooking up great food, as will the Stanley Rodeo cheese curd stand.

“Another Road” which plays classic rock, country and pop music, will be providing free music in the beer tent Friday from 8pm to midnight.

Saturday brings plenty of events for everyone. First off is the Wiffle Ball tournament being played on the new T-ball field.  Teams consist of 5 persons, age 13 and older, and is limited to the first 8 teams that sign up. There is a $20 per team entry fee, and anyone wishing to get their team entered should contact Russ Jensen at rjensen@stjosephboyd.com. The fun starts at 8 a.m. and will continue throughout the day.  Then beginning at noon, The Boyd Lions will be sponsoring free BINGO in the big pavilion.  Also on Saturday, starting at 1pm, is the Western Wisconsin Pedal Pull held near the basketball court.  This is a sanctioned event and trophies will be awarded.  From 1:30pm – 4 p.m., children can get their faces painted by talented artist, Donna Thiess of “Paint Me First” of Eau Claire. This is a free event and will be held in the big pavilion.  Saturday night brings out the band “4th FLOOR”.  The band will be playing under the lights in the big tent from 8pm to midnight. There is a $20 cover charge and gates to the tent will open at 5pm (see related article for ticket information).

Sunday events include the parade starting at 1 p.m., with line up starting at 10am. Any questions regarding the parade may be directed to Jeff Zais at 715-667-3354.  After the parade, children can enjoy the free petting zoo in the park near the basketball field. The Boyd Lions Club will be cooking up their delicious charcoal chicken.  Beginning at 4 p.m. “Bona Fide” will take the stage and play a mixture of classic rock and country until 8pm.  Free Boyd Bucks will be awarded (must be present to win) and parade winners will be announced in the Big Pavilion at 5 p.m. You can enter to win free Boyd Bucks at local businesses beginning May 16 through May 26.

There will be plenty to do, so make plans now to share in the fun in Boyd during Ringelspiel Days May 25th, 26th, 27th and 28th!
