The D.R. Moon Memorial Library will present CARE- Creating Auditory Resources for Everyone on September 14th from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Stanley Historical Society Museum located at 228 Helgerson St. According to the National Center of Health Statistics, “approximately 15% of American adults (37.5 million) aged 18 and over report some trouble hearing.” While hearing loss seems to be greatest in 60- to 69-year-olds, over 28 million Americans could benefit from using hearing devices.
On Thursday evening, guest speaker Dr. Kelsey Joosten, an audiologist primarily located in Wausau, will discuss information on hearing and hearing loss, surgery, resources related to hearing loss, hearing aid choices, communication tips, and over the counter hearing aid education. Dr. Kelsey Joosten, who evaluates, diagnoses and treats hearing loss, balance issues and tinnitus, will also be available to answer any questions during the question-and-answer time immediately following the presentation. Refreshments will also be served.
Walk-ins are welcome but registration is preferred by calling the D.R. Moon Memorial Library at 715-644-2004.
