Stanley-Boyd Middle School held its 29th Annual Spelling Bee on January 16, 2026, with a total of 40 students competing. For the second year in a row, eighth grader Logan Stuttgen claimed first place. Huego Wundrow, a fifth grader, finished second, and Claire Kryzanowski, also a fifth grader, earned third place. Their impressive performances highlighted the depth of spelling talent at Stanley-Boyd and made for an exciting competition. All three students will advance to the Regional Spelling Bee on February 12 at the CESA 10 Conference Center, with the opportunity to qualify for the Badger State Spelling Bee on March 21 in Madison, Wisconsin.
The other Stanley-Boyd Spelling Bee contestants who competed on Friday included:
5th Grade- Porter Boos, Clay Flashinski, Revaleigh Heifner, Callen Kohls, Lydia Peterson, Sayuri Ramirez Ocasio, Bryce Reynolds, and Wesley Schmitt.
6th Grade- Killian Bell, Emmett Czubakowski, Natilynn Johnson, Kylie Klovas, Kendall Knox, Andrew Mertens, Reise Smith, Lincoln Standing Tree, Kroix Steinbach, Pandora Whitesell.
7th Grade- Treyton Christoph, Jaxson Giwojna, Bethany Henderson, Quinn Hendzel, Norah Krzyzanowski, Brekken Lato, Natalie Lilla, Lynnsie Palmer, Drake Pilgrim, and Aubrey Stuttgen.
8th Grade- Finn Cody, Evy Czubakowski, Lewis Lukes, Molly Mertens, Sam Nitz, Aaliyah Prissel, Royal Tanner, Ian Wehling, and Kinley Westrom.
The spelling bee was hosted by Stanley-Boyd teacher Jake Fitzsimmons and judged by middle school teachers Nancy Liebzeit and Lynn Mohr, with middle school teacher Adam Helmsing serving as the rules reader and moderator.
