Position sought? Eau Claire County District 1 Board seat

Are you from the Eau Claire County area original

ly? I grew up in the military.

My mom is from West Virginia and my dad is from Ladysmith, WI. We settled here after his retirement and I moved to Fall Creek in 2012.

What about family? My husband and I have 2 children, 16 and 18 and we have 4 dogs and 3 cats.

Just what drives you to seek the role of Eau Claire County Supervisor this election cy

cle? I love our community, it’s what drove me to run for school board and exactly what drives me for County Supervi- sor. Living in a rural commu nity, it’s important to have a strong voice to speak on behalf of our District.

What do you bring to the table in terms of background and experience, and how would you prioritize differ ent county needs, made into a list? How would these needs and goals be achieved? I have spent 9 years in operational leadership. This experience has built a strong ability to work through conflict, negotiate, and build relationships. (amongst other things). I’ll address 2 top priorities for the County based on what I continue to hear throughout our county.

Fiscal Responsibility – Our county needs to improve their transparency with how the county operates financially. There needs to be a review of the current check and balances in place and improvements need to be identified, imple mented and clearly communicated to our residents.

Housing – Eau Claire County continues to grow rapidly pulling in new residents to our community. This causes housing issues amongst many working individuals and families. What’s considered to be “workforce housing” is a struggle for many to afford. I would suggest we explore ways for our county to mitigate the high cost of housing to help drive sustainability for residents.

Should the matter arise in a given case, how would you address any real or perceived conflict of interest involving the county board? If there’s either a perceived or real con- flict of interest it should be ad dressed by all board members and made public knowledge.

The conflict should be vetted and any member that is consid- ered to be a part of the conflict should abstain from any vote taking place.

What else should peo

ple know? Change starts at “home.” Small elections drive big changes. Encourage your family, friends and neighbors to get out and vote!

Don’t hesitate to reach out!

I am always available to discuss any concerns our district may have.
