Appointed to District 5 County Board (Town of Delmar/City of Stanley) Position sought: Chippewa County District 8 Board seat
Are you from Chippewa County originally? What about family? Just what drives you to seek the role of Chippewa County Supervi –
sor this election cycle? All my life I have lived in the City of Stanley except for about seven years, two attending tech school and five at Sears man aging paints and hardware.
Other than that I was born here and lived here all my life. My wife Michelle was born and raised in Boyd. What drives me to seek office is that I want to give back to the area where I’ve grown up, raised a family, and owned a business. I want to give back to the area which has been so generous to me.
What do you bring to the table in terms of background and experience, and how would you prioritize differ – ent county needs, made into a list? How would these needs and goals be achieved? I’m a lifelong resident and obviously my hardware store. Also the other boards I’ve served on, D. R. Moon Library and Our Lady of Victory Hospital. Also the Stanley Area Historical Society. If I had to have a priority list it would be infrastructure such as roads/broadband internet. Second would be public health. Third would be recreation. These goals would be achieved by budgeting. You have to work with the budgets you have.
Should the matter arise in a given case, how would you address any real or perceived conflict of interest involving the county board? I would seek counsel from the county clerk, the county chairman, and their legal department.
What else should people know? I really am grateful to this area. Growing up I had a lot of support from the community. When I was in business I had a lot of support from the community. I just want to give back. It’s a great place to live, a great place to grow up, and a great place to do business.
