The NHS induction was held on Monday, October 20, at 6:30 p.m. in the School Library and was followed by a dessert and snack reception organized by returning members for new inductees and their families. Many of the returning members and new inductees were part of the cast of The Wizard of Oz, the weekend before the induction. Regardless of the busy weeks leading up to the play and the busy weekend of the show, NHS members stepped in for their new inductees: They organized an evening that honored the new members and their great commitment towards the four pillars of the NHS (leadership, scholarship, character, and service), wrote personalized speeches to welcome and introduce each of the 18 new members, and celebrated together with the newest members of their group. This year’s returning members show a deep sense of togetherness and take great initiative when running our NHS chapter. With their versatile talents and involvement, the new members will be a great addition to the group. The students are excited to come together to move on to the next project - the holiday decorations at Chapman Park.
