Stanley, WI – A new opportunity for young musicians and music enthusiasts is coming to town. Lauren Cody, a Stanley resident and cellist with previous teaching experience in the Chicagoland area, has recently joined the NorthWoods Strings team and will be launching at the beginning of the 2025–2026 school year to provide private and group instruction in cello, violin, and viola for students in and around Stanley, Wisconsin.

While nearly every local school district offers excellent band and choir programs, string instruction has long been missing from the area. NorthWoods Strings aims to fill that gap by providing students of all ages with access to high-quality string education close to home.

“My goal is to give students in rural Wisconsin the same opportunities to learn and fall in love with string instruments that their peers in larger communities have,” said teacher Lauren Cody. “Strings bring a unique sound and richness to music, and I’m thrilled to help foster the next generation of string players right here in our community”

Lauren will offer individual string instrument lessons, small group workshops, and performance opportunities for both children and adults that foster collaboration, ensemble skills, and community connection. Classes will be available beginning fall 2025.
