CITY OF STANLEY REGULAR MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL April 04, 2022 AT 7:00P.M.

Mayor Al Haas presiding. On roll call: Al Haas, Rick Hodowanic, Mark Fitzsimmons, Jason Meyer, Kevin Hendrickson, Mike Henke, Jacob Huff, Laurie Foster, and Holly Kitchell.

Members Present: Al Haas, Rick Hodowanic, Mark Fitzsimmons, Jason Meyer, Kevin Hendrickson, Jacob Huff (phone), Laurie Foster, and Holly Kitchell.

Others Present: Nicole Thiel (Clerk), Lori Cooley, Gerald Heiting, Joe Back (Stanley Republican), Lance Weiland, John Hoel.

A motion was made by Hendrickson, seconded by Foster to approve April 04, 2022 Council agenda. Voice vote. All ayes with Henke absent. Motion carried.

Presentation of the concerns from the Public present: Gerald Heiting wanted to thank his two alderman, Kevin and Jason, who assisted in picking up his yard. Lori Cooley spoke on the upcoming election and the concerns she had.

Mark Fitzsimmons updated on the depot.

Rick Hodowanic questioned the amount of cars currently at the Halterman location on Broadway.

The Common Council utilizing a single vote may act upon the following items. Individual items, which any member wishes to address in greater detail or as a separate item, may be removed upon the request of any council member. a. Approve the March 21, 2022 Common Council minutes. b. Approve the March 21, 2022 Committee as a Whole meeting minutes c. Review the Bi-monthly reports from the Water/Wastewater/ Public Works/Police/Fire/ Clerk. d. Approve Dean Schneider attending WRWA training on April 6, 2022 in Plover, WI for Water System Operations Basics: Distribution at a cost of $100. e. Approve Dean Schneider attending WRWA training on April 27, 2022 in Plover, WI for Permit- Required Confined Space Entry at a cost of $100. f. Approve Application for hunting/Trapping on City owned property for Marvin J.

Schofield. g. Approve Operator License for Angela M. Moyer. h. Approve hiring of Shaun Starck for the position of full- time police officer as created by contracted law enforcement services agreement between the City of Stanley and the Village of Boyd. One year probationary period will coincide with initial one year contract between municipalities. i. Approve polling location to be moved from Stanley Fire Station to Stanley Community Center to be effective at the next election.

A motion was made by Foster, seconded by Kitchell to approve consent items a-i.. Voice vote. All ayes with Henke absent. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Hendrickson, seconded by Hodowanic to approve the accounts payable checks for April 04, 2022. Roll call vote. All ayes with Henke absent. Motion carried.

New Business: Discussion was held with John Hoel to update the wages of the seasonal, temporary, and part-time employees for the parks/sewer departments. A motion was made by Fitzsimmons, seconded by Kitchell to move seasonal, part-time, and temporary employees to $14 per hour effective the start of this season. Roll call vote. All ayes with Henke absent. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Kitchell, seconded by Foster to move payroll of Stanley Fire department to quarterly instead of semiannually effective 1st quarter of 2022. Roll Call vote. All ayes, with Henke absent. Motion carried.

At 7:21 P.M. a motion was made by Foster, seconded by Hendrickson to adjourn. Voice vote. All ayes with Henke absent. Motion Carried.
