“The poor weather has really been the story of the year so far for just about everyone,” boys golf head coach Devon Wenndt shared of how things were going after a meet at Whispering Pines recently. “It was a blessing to be able to get these last couple of matches played in dry conditions.” Saying in turning that the team was "still doing quite a bit of lineup shuwing," Say – ing that one player had been fighting through illness, Wenndt shared more on the team’s performance and followup at Bloomer.
“I thought they turned right around and put up a good fight in brutally windy conditions at Bloomer 24 hours later,” he said. “Tip of the cap to Isaac Brenner, who shot 80 and really played much better than he scored,” Wenndt aid. “He made 3 bad swings all day, and each one cost him dearly. Other than those, he was able to control his ball nicely in inclement conditions.”
Adding that he expected to see improvement moving forward, Wenndt had one last observation to make.
“Now we just need a little cooperation from Mother Nature,” he said.
