It may depend on you know what (see above), but if all goes well with nature the Oriole boys golf team is set to hit Whispering Pines April 28, with head coach Devon Wenndt giving his thoughts on the season’s start and things moving forward.
"It has been a divcult start of the spring sports season,” Wenndt said. “Every time we get to practice outside is a blessing. I look forward to the latter portion of the season where hopefully the golf courses have had a chance to dry up.”
As to individual players for the team, Wenndt said that the Orioles had 16 in all, adding that this year was “a relatively young team with only two seniors.” Saying it would be fun to witness the growth process as the season progresses, Wenndt expressed hope that the team could find itself in a place to be competitive when the postseason comes around.
“It will be fun to witness the growth pro- cess, and with a bit of fortune we can find our selves in a position to be competitive once the postseason rolls around,” he shared.
Following Thursday’s match at Whispering Pines, the Orioles are scheduled for another match at Veteran’s Memorial Golf Course in Bloomer on Friday, then heading west and south to play courses at Marathon, Columbus Catholic, and Adams-Friendship.
