Gilman meet cancelled for rain

The Oriole Track and Field continue to advance this season, traveling to Eleva-Strum on Tuesday, April 15 to take first and second a meet at Gilman cancelled for rain two days later on April 17. The Gilman meet will not be rescheduled.
As for Eleva-Strum, the Orioles girls team came away in first place with 142.5 points while the Oriole boys took second with 135 points, both teams having good numbers, per Head Coach Bob Seidl.
“We have only had one outdoor meet this year (at Eleva), so it’s too early to determine what our track team looks like,” Seidl said. “At this point we are entering athletes in events and making changes to determine what our strengths are.
“Both teams have good numbers. The boys are down a little from last year and the girls are up. The main thing is the girls and boys both have good enough numbers to fill a meet entry form. We should have entries in all of the relays.
“We have had a lot of athletes absent for field trips, class trips, etc… so I haven’t had a full squad yet this season, that is the reality of spring sports.”
Results from Eleva-Strum are as follows:

Girls
Lula Chwala placed second 100 meter hurdles with a mark of 18.08, first in the 300 hurdles with 50.98, and seventh in the 200 meter dash with 29.75
Haley Shakal placed second in the 800 meter run at 2:56.07, first in the 1600 meter run with a time of 6:29.86 and placed second in the 3200 meter relay with a time of 12:20.99 (Shakal, Wehling, Boes and Trevino).
Mariah Wehling placed first in the 3200 meter run with a time of 14:11.49
Grace Schmidt placed third in the High Jump with 4-6
Bea Blume placed third in the Pole vault with 7-0
Stella Chwala placed third in the triple jump with 29-8.5 and second in the 300 meter low hurdles with 57.14
Addy Gustafson placed third in the Long Jump with 13-9.5

Boys
Jesse Allard placed first in the 110 meter hurdles with a mark of 19.37, first in the 300 meter hurdles with 46.98, and third in the high jump with 5-4, 3rd pole V 8-0
Depon Clingensmith placed second in the 400 meter dash with a mark of 57.88
Elihu Krenzelok placed second in the 800 meter run at 2:21.89, with Lyric Lamson placing third at 2:21.90
Lyric Lamson won the 1600 meter run with a time of 5:22.75, while Elihu Krenzelok placed second with a time of 5:27.58
Cameron Natzke won the 3200 meter run in 13:11.33
Elihu, Lyric, Cameron and Joe Broughten placed third in the 3200 meter relay with a time of 9:51.86
Carson Hodowonic won the 100 meter dash but scratched from the 200 with a hamstring strain.
Braden Cisak. Rudy Kletsch, Carson Hodowonic and Cole Brenner won the 4x100 m relay with a mark of 46.26
Hunter Pennala won the boys pole vault with 8-0

“The times and distances were not really impressive but the weather played a factor,” Coach Seidl said of Eleva Strum. “Strong winds kept athletes from setting high PR standards. We could have won the meet for the boys also but chose to scratch athletes in the 200 to prevent injury.”

The Orioles also competed at the Stout Elite Meet April 3, with notable finishes as follows:

Boys
Madden Mahr placed fourth in the 55 meter dash with a mark of 6.63 and second in the 200 meter dash with a mark of 23.18
