Lead in 16 – 4 Regis game comes early on

Suspended for darkness with the score 14 – 5 in Cadott’s favor, the last of two games against Cadott April 26 will only be replayed if it auects the playous. In the meantime, there are games against Osseo-Fairchild and Regis to report on.

“We continued to play and didn’t give up until the final out," Coach Tyler Wagner said of the game against Osseo-Fairchild. “We gave up an early lead, but continued to battle and put Osseo-Fairchild in a tough spot to end the game. Our comeback just fell short in the final frame.”

Wagner also said that the team’s hitters are continuing to take a better approach to the plate, while pitchers are throwing strikes, with the result that opposing teams are forced to try and hit the ball.

As to the game against Osseo-Fairchild, Wagner mentioned several players.

“Emme Felmlee and Sierra Close led the way with two hits each and two RBI’s apiece,” he said, with Emily Brenner, Tina Benson and Aaliyah Allard also contributing two hits., Allard picking up a double.

"We will continue to clean up our fielding and limit errors moving forward in the season,” Coach Wagner said.

As to the win against Regis Friday., “Wagner said it was the “most complete game yet.”

“This was our most complete game thus far in the season,” he shared, “putting together all areas of the game.” All the Orioles got at least one hit, with Emily Brenner making a home run, triple, double, and single in the mix.

“Emme Felmlee also had four hits and had four RBI’s,” Coach Wagner said, while Abby Reynolds was deemed strong in the circle , thus forcing the Ramblers to put the ball in play with zero walks, and striking out seven. The Oriole defense, meanwhile, “had zero errors on the night,” also contributing to the win.

The Oriole softball varsity next plays against McDonnell Central at Stanley-Boyd Thursday, in a game rescheduled from an initial date of April 14 and set to start at 5 p.m.
