Closing their season with a playoff loss to Northwestern at Maple Oct. 276, the Oriole varsity football team can look back on a great season - even if they didn’t want it to end.
“This game was a tough one to lose,”Oriole Head Coach Jeff Koenig said of the 58 -48 finish in the Tiger’s favor. “This team played their hearts out and unfortunately, things didn't go our way.” But all was not lost. A total of 14 Orioles made first or second All Conference listings in the Cloverbelt, with Chase Sturm, Madden Mahr and Storm Tiry making WFCA All-Region. The team finished this year ranked 3rd in the Cloverbelt, with an 8-3 overall record and 5-2 in Conference. Koenig summed the season up.
“The team had a great season and our seniors did an outstanding job of leading the team through the ups and downs of the year,” he said.
