Racing towards playoffs with an 6-3 conference record, the Oriole boys varsity fell in back to back games, before clinching a victory against Cadott to finish the week.
Coming away 67-53 against Durand at home on Jan. 28, the Orioles fell to Fall Creek 51-46 in an away game on Jan. 30. Meeting Cadott Saturday Feb. 8, the Orioles finished with the score 68-51 in their favor.
Orioles Head Coach Dakota Nichols shared more on Durand and Fall Creek.
“Turnovers and missed free throws have hurt us the past two games,” Nichols said. “We had a combined 23 turnovers and 12 missed free throws. Both games were single digit deficits in the second half. We just need to slow down a little bit and continue to practice our free throws.”
Scoring points for Stanley-Boyd against Durand were Charlie Hoel (15 points), Brenner Myers (14 points), Logan Gray (nine points), Josiah Demske (eight points), Troy Haas (four points), and Jackson Gindt (three points), for 53 total.
Scoring points against Fall Creek were Hoel (15 points), Myers (13 points), Gindt (six points), Gray and Demske (five points each), and Carson Woodcock (two points), for 46 total.
Against Cadott, the point tally included Hoel (20 points), Myers (18 points), Demske (12 points), as well as Woodcock, Gray, and Gindt (six each).
Now with a 11-8 record overall, the Orioles are scheduled to play McDonell Thursday, Feb. 13 at home. Game start time is 7:15 p.m.
