Orioles wrestle at Altoona and home, head to Wausau this Saturday

"I thought Thursday went as expected," Coach Greg Burszynski said of the Orioles Quad with three other teams at Altoona January 6th. "We were wrestling teams that had 13 of 14 (Cadott and Regis) weight classes filled," he said. "On Thursday we filled 9 of 14. We have yet to place our full team on the mat due to ill- ness and injuries. Overall, I thought the kids wrestled well on Thursday. It was nice to come out with the win against Osseo.

Coming away from competition Thursday, the Orioles bested Osseo-Fairchild/Augusta/ Fall Creek by a score of 36 – 27, while they took a team finish of 27 – 52 against Regis/Altoona along with a finish of 12 – 66 against Cadott.

As to individual wrestlers, the wins at Thurs – day's quad any Altoona, were as follows.

Dale Sayles defeated Ethen Eager by Fall in 1:08 and Brock Nesvacil by Fall in 0:38 for the 113-pound weight class. Troy Trevino defeated Sullivan Haskins by Fall in 0:19 and Liam O' Connel by Fall in 3:07 for the 138-pound class. Landon Hoel defeated Dustin Sudbrink by Fall in 1:18 for the 145-pound weight class. Finally, Dylan Seichter defeated Nash Cullinan by Fall for the 160-pound weight class.

Stanley-Boyd won forfeit matches Thursday in the 126, 132, and 195-pound weight classes.

As to the follow-up on January 7th at home, Coach Burzynski said that, "Friday was a tight dual. If we would have had one match we lost go our way, we would have won it. I continue to be impressed by the hard work and dedica- tion of this team." Chi-Hi won the dual overall at Stanley-Boyd on Friday, but not before the following wins: Sasha Nitz defeated Connor Bruhn of Chip – pewa Falls by Decision 9-8 in the 126-pound weight class, Breckin Burzynski defeated Xan – der Neal by Major Decision in the 132- pound weight class, Landon Hoel defeated Austin Mc –

Graw by Fall in 5:30, while Jared Ramero-Gar cia and Caden Kopek won by forfeit in their re- spective weight classes, with Koepl playing an exhibition match against Chi-Hi.

The Orioles next head to Wausau West High School Saturday January 15 for a JV Wrestling Invitational, with matches starting at 9:00 a.m.
