BOYD Police Reports
July 3 7:35 p.m.
Officer was observing traf –
fic in the center crossover be tween mile markers 96 and 97. Upon witnessing a vehicle traveling eastbound at 78 mph, a traffic stop was conducted,
resulting in Matthew Winters being cited for Operating Motor Vehicle While Suspended and No Proof of Insurance. An Act 79 search based on visible paraphernalia in the back seat did not return any suspected contraband.
11:17 p.m.
Officer was observing traf –
fic in the center crossover be tween mile markers 96 and 97. Upon witnessing a vehicle headed westbound at 90 mph in a posted 65 mph zone, a traffic
stop was conducted resulting in Jonathan Allen being cited for Speeding Expressway (2529 mph) and Non-Registration of Auto. Driver said he did not know how fast he was going and surprised at the speed, but did not have any questions.
July 16 7:23 p.m.
Officer observing traffic
in the center crossover on 29 when he witnessed a car traveling 83 mph in a posted 65 mph zone. A traffic stop was
conducted and operator Blaine Edington was cited for Speeding Expressway (16-19 mph) and Operating While Suspended. Driver stated he was “just trying to get home” and did not have any questions.
11:03 p.m.
Officer patrolling in the
Village of Boyd when he witnessed a vehicle on East Murray Street, the registration plate light of which was not func- tioning. Upon a traffic stop
Jared Miller was cited for Operating while Suspended and for Boyd ordinance B011.2.13 Possession of Intoxicating Substance/Paraphernalia 1st, after he admitted to having marijuana in the vehicle as well. Miller was warned for the registration plate lamp and expired registration.
July 17 10:33 p.m.
Officer dispatched by Chip pewa County for a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed, but was unable to locate the vehicle.
