Public Works Shop to receive much needed repairs

At the March 4th Council meeting, Alderperson Mark Fitzsimmons described the repairs needed for the public works shop to the council members highlighting the length of time that it has taken to get the work done. The city council voted to move forward with advertising for bids for the repair of the City of Stanley Public Works building at 100 State Street to include removal and repair of the east block masonry wall of the city shop entrance way, reattaching the rubber roof to the new wall, block and floor repairs, and grinding and tuck pointing of the entire building as needed.
“It’s been long enough,” Mayor Al Haas remarked.
“Probably ten years too long,” Alderperson Mike Henke agreed.
The deadline for proposal submittal is March 28th at noon and bids will be opened on April 1st before the regular Committee of the whole meeting.
