A Town of Wilson man finds himself in more trouble than he was initially, after being charged with attempted first-degree in tentional homicide in Eau Claire County on January 7.

Adam Nathan Langiewicz, age 59, of northeast Eau Claire County, was under court order not to possess or consume alcohol or other intoxicants when he allegedly went to his neighbor’s house December 22 and stabbed him, saying that the man had called police on him. While authorities did not release names at the time in regards to the incident, Langiewicz is now facing a class A felony charge attempted homicide, in addition to what had initially been a class H felony charge (for OWI, along with three counts of bail jumping that match the felony level of the OWI charge.

“Bail jumping” can refer to anything from simply missing a court date to breaking court-imposed conditions for pre-trial release, with the corresponding class attached to the bail jumping charge, matching the class of the original charge.

Felonies, meanwhile, are classed form “A” to “I” in terms of their severity, with a class I felony being considered the least se- vere, and a class A felony the most severe. The charge of first-de gree attempted homicide against Langiewicz means that he is considered by authorities as having the intent to cause the death of the person who was stabbed.

Held in the Eau Claire County jail as of Monday night on a $500,000 bond after court officials sided with the state in its bond request, Langiewicz was likewise noted as being eligible for public defender representation at the January 7th court hearing.

Alleged to have set fire to a shed on his property following the incident from December 22, Langiewicz was sitting in the Eau Claire County Jail as of Monday, a plea hjearing in the former case scheduled for January 19.
