The 2025-26 Stanley-Boyd School budget is official.
Passed Monday, Oct. 27 at a budget hearing with just two members of the public present, the mill rate this coming year was set at $5.383 per $1,000 in equalized property value. The mill rate as approved represents a 76 cent drop from last year’s rate.
Included in this year’s total school levy of $4,086,844 are $3,786,884 for Fund 10 and $300,000 for Fund 80. The $300,000 as approved is a contingency measure to allow for flexibility and prevent wide swings in the levy from year to year.
Affecting the budget this year is an earlier than expected drop in enrollment due to things like homeschool, as well as contributions to private school vouchers.
Included in this year’s budget but not next year’s is a $256,300 declining enrollment exemption, the total school budget totaling $20,228,292.92 in revenue and $21,852,378.13 in expenditures. The extra budgeted expenditures are Fund 46 expenditures, with district office relocation expected to begin construction in May 2026, paid for with Fund 46 capital improvement savings.
