Do you need help shoveling this winter, or else find yourself willing to help others in need?
If either of the above describes you, we have news.
The Stanley Community Association (SCA) has a snow angel program that might interest you.
The premise is simple.
Recognizing that snow and ice can pose serious difficulties for the elderly and those with mobility issues, the SCA seeks to connect these individuals with snow shovelers.
“The Snow Angel program is a laminate sheet of paper with a snow angel on it,” SCA President Kristi Weiland shared recently. “Stanley residents who are not able to shovel their own sidewalks or driveways can display the sign somewhere in their window or door visible from the road, in hopes a good Samaritan will help them with the task. It is not a guarantee of help but a way to try to facilitate it. Signs are available at city hall or can be printed from our website stanleycommunity.us. We ask those picking up a sign leave an address of the resident needing help so we can share it if someone is looking to help out. Email us at sca54768@gmail.com with questions.”
The Snow Angel program is a voluntary program, with no liability for injuries or guarantee of service. Property owners acknowledge that volunteers are not professionals and agree to release the SCA and volunteers from any liability for damage to property resulting from snow removal, with no employee relationship between volunteers or property owners and the SCA. No agreement of compensation for damages is included, with risk undertaken by the property owners and volunteers respectively. Participation in the program confirms that one has read, understood, and agrees to abide by the No Liability Statement on the SCA website.
With winter now here, the Snow Angel program is a way to help out neighbors.
