Spring into Stanley arrives at Chapman Park Saturday, April 26.
“We are working with the Stanley VFW Post 2711, Legion Post 112, and Stanley Lions club,” event organizer Dean Tinjum shared recently. The VFW and Legion will have pulled pork sandwiches with chips and a soda, a 50/50 raffle planned as well.
Additionally, the Stanley Community Association will be hosting bingo from 2 to 4 p.m. at Chapman Park.
Local vendors for Spring into Stanley include Tessy’s Popcorn, 1881 Nutrition, Derks Farms Beef, and Ogle’s Maple Syrup. Honey will also be included among vendor opportunities.
Included in Spring into Stanley is the Smoke and Fire BBQ Contest. A total of 24 teams from Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Illinois will compete for cash and tournament points. BBQ teams will be cooking for the judges, the total payout in cash prizes being $3,000.Trophies for the BBQ Contest are being donated by Northfork Knotworks and Excel Steel.
“The teams will be competing for the Stanley Cup,” Tinjum said of one trophy included in the event.
Sponsors for the Saturday event include the Stanley Lions, Kelly Grill, Hazuga’s True Value, Tessy’s Popcorn, Derks Farms, LaGrander’s Cheese, Martino’s Restaurant, Northfork Knotworks, Excel Steel, Print WI, Advance Auto, Hansen’s IGA, and Smokin’ Bros Rubs & Seasonings.
