Area community members took a break from the cold temps and warmed up with Bingo at the Stanley Community Center on Sunday, January 21st hosted by the Stanley Community Association. SCA volunteers served up delicious concessions, including sloppy joes, hot dogs, chips, cookies, and other tasty treats. Prizes included cash and gift card donations from local sponsors Cantina Margarita, Ele’s Flowers, the Stanley A&W, and the Stanley Community Pool and Aquatic Center. During the event, non-perishable food and personal hygiene donations were also accepted for the Stanley-Boyd Area Food Pantry.
The SCA is currently seeking donations to add to their Play Big Dream Bigger Playground and Splash Pad project to purchase and install a new splash pad and inclusive playground at Chapman Park. The local group will continue to bring Community Bingo back to the area on February 18th and March 17th at the Stanley Community Center.
