Stanley Community Association opens Light Up the City Contest

Like to decorate for the holidays?
Then we’ve got a contest for you. The Stanley Community Association (SCA) is putting on its annual holiday lighting contest, with SCA President Kristi Weiland sharing more on the details when reached for comment.
“It’s the same as the last few years,” she said for contest details. The winning display get a $100 Cash Prize, with $50 cash for second palace and $25 for third place. The voting period runs from Saturday, Dec. 13 through Saturday, Dec. 20. Voting will take place both on Facebook, with online link, and paper ballots. Paper ballots must be received back by Dec. 20 or they will not be counted. Contest winners will be notified December 22.
As for entering the contest, registration for the Light Up the City is available now at https://forms.gle/YnzPXJsEEEjm5zDz6, other sign up options as well.
“People could also sign up by sending an email to us , sca54768@gmail.com, or dropping off a letter to the city hall by 12/1,” Weiland said. “They need to include their name, email address, phone number, and address of light display. Residents get the cash prizes and the business winner gets a sign for their window.”
Formed in 2021, the SCA works to beautify the Stanley area, with current projects including a new playground and splashpad.
