Stanley man sentenced for sexual assault

Three year sentence to be followed by extended supervision

A Stanley man has been convicted and sentenced to three years in prison in connection with a sexual assault from 2024.
Chippewa County court records for Phillip A. Jordan, 56, show an initial ‘not guilty’ plea entered by Jordan’s attorney in Dec. 2025, followed by a plea deal reached in March 2026. The victim came forward in Jan. 2024 when she was 17 years old and was Jordan’s foster child at the time.
Jordan was initially charged in the case after a complaint filed on Oct. 11, 2024 after a pretrial report filed in Feb. 2024, with Jordan ultimately found guilty of 3rd Degree Sexual Assault, Causing Mental Harm to Child, and Cause Child 13-18 to View Sex, all felonies under state law. Jordan resided at 101 West Eighth Avenue in Stanley at the time of the complaint.
A sentencing hearing on June 17 of this year in Chippewa County court sentenced Jordan to two years on the first count, three years on the second, and two years on the third, with sentences to run concurrently. Jordan will be subject to three years of extended supervision upon release, with conditions of extended supervision to including No contact with victim, or anyone under 18 without prior written consent of agent, no contact in any place frequented by minors, treatment as per agent and psych evaluation if available. In addition Jordan must maintain full time employment while on extended supervision and is required to be a lifetime registrant of the sex offender registry.
