Dear Editor:
What’s wrong with the city of Stanley? A question many probably ask. I can say I proudly worked for the city for three years but the way employees are being treated as if they are replaceable caused me to resign my position. They treat you like a nobody. I had earned vacation that they won’t even pay out but let’s blow money in other places such as looking into sending sewer water to the ethanol plant to use….come on let’s get real we need to work on getting more potable water in the city, not send toilet water to the one and really only big industry in Stanley. We need to work on infrastructure. There are roads that are in terrible shape such as West Maple street and 345th. They talked about possibly closing 345th. That’s just not smart. Look at Industrial Drive and Development Drive – they are falling apart from the traffic on them. With 345th in better shape these trucks would be more likely to take that route and if the city ever wanted to have an industry move in out there good luck with no water or sewer or even roads out there. The city has certain departments that have been spending money for their own pleasure and have been told but seem to ignore it. It’s sad that it has to be this way and we must ask ourselves what can we do it change it.
