Wilson Township facing beaver trouble

Croasdale Road in Wilson is facing beaver trouble, and that means that nature’s engineers, could just be in trouble themselves— trapped, that is.

The long-running dynamic now playing out in Wilson as elsewhere comes to a fore when beavers alter the water level near roads and/or plug culverts, resulting in undue water pressure on same and the potential for washouts if not addressed. Solution The trapper man. Word has it that captured beavers in Wilson on Croasdale will be worth $20 a head, with help enlisted.

But while roads are about as interesting or divisive as it gets for local township politics there is good news, to the effect that Gravel Pitt will be getting a new bridge. All the paperwork is filed, and in two to five years time the new bridge should be in.

In the meantime, Clerk Danielle Barka presented the preliminary 2022 Budget to the Board, with an update and finalization before being tentatively approved come November. That’s not all, though!

If you’re into ATV transport, the signs are up in Wilson, with the exception of County H. Kaufman Road will see work in the next thaw cycle and residents will be notified if possible to push back material instead of hauling it away, red granite being used for the work.
