Senior captain Aaliyah Allard has been named this week’s Stanley-Boyd Athlete of the Week for her leadership, versatility, and dedication to her team—both on and off the field. She’s helping lead the Orioles through a standout season with skill, heart, and even a few braids.
Allard, who began playing softball in 4th grade, says her favorite memory so far is a thrilling extra-innings win over McDonell—a hard-fought game that highlighted the team’s resilience.

Now in her senior year, Allard is focused on helping her team go even further. She shared that her goal is to make it further into the playoffs than last year. But it’s not just about wins and stats for her—Allard values the bonds built with her teammates most. “Spending time with my teammates,” she shared of her favorite aspect of softball.
Allard’s impact on the field hasn’t gone unnoticed. Head coach Kim Goettl praised her leadership and team-first mentality. “Aaliyah is one of two senior captains for the Orioles. She had brought experience, knowledge, and a competitive drive to the team,” said Goettl. “Her best attribute is her willingness to put the team first.”
That selflessness was clear when Allard was asked to switch positions this season.
“Aaliyah was asked to try out at first base this year. She took on the challenge without hesitation.,” Goettl pointed out. “She has been a solid player at the corner.”
Currently, the Orioles boast an impressive 8–1 record—and Goettl noted that Allard’s positive attitude has played a key role in that success. Whether it’s making plays or making sure everyone looks their best, she’s always stepping up. “She’s even willing to braid everyone’s hair so they don’t just play good, they look good,” Goettl added.

Allard’s dedication as both a player and a leader makes her a role model for younger teammates and a key part of the Orioles’ success this season. With leadership like hers, the Orioles are poised for a strong finish—and Aaliyah Allard is determined to help take them there.
