Oriole boys take first in conference, girls break relay record

Heading to Cadott for the Conference invite May 14, the Stanley-Boyd boys track team came away in first place, while the girls 4 x 200 relay team broke a school record.
Starting with boys result, Madden Mahr took first in both the 200-meter and 400-meter dash, finishing the 200 meter with a time of 22.7 and the 400 meter with a time of 52.44.
Also taking first at Cadott but in the high jump was Jesse Allard, who cleared 5-6 for 10 team points.
Chase Sturm took first in the shot-put with a distance of 45-2. Sturm took second in the long jump with a distance of 20-6
Also taking second at Cadott but in the discus was Henry Koch, throwing a distance of 121-5.
Senior Lucas took second in the 1600-meter run (4:34.6), 800 meter run (2:03.45), and 3200 meter run (10:27.15). The boys relay team of Rudy Kletsch, Cole Brenner, Jake LaGrander, and Carson Hodowanic also took second, finishing the 4 x 200 with a time of 1:32.62
Overall the boys team placed first, followed by Fall Creek and McDonell.
As for girls track results, the relay team of Addyson Gustafson, Lula Chwala, Bethany Pilgrim, and Macie LaGrander broke a school record in the 4 x 200 meter relay, finishing with a time of 1:50.12.
“The old record stood since 1981,” Coach Bob Seidl shared of the previous. The team was conference runner up in the 800 meter relay, while Lula Chwala was conference runner up in the 300 intermediate hurdles. Among personal records from Cadott were Alger (shot put, 2-11.75), Bea Bluhm (pole vault, 7-6), Emily Kletsch (shot put, 28-3.5), LaGrander (100 meter dash, 13.33), Mayah Mahr (pole vault, 7-0), Grace Schmidt (pole vault, 6-6), and Syleen Seichter (high jump, 4-6).
The girls team placed sixth overall at Cadott, with many sectional qualifiers in both boys and girls on Monday at regionals.
