A two-vehicle crash on Sunday morning has resulted in the transport of one individual by ambulance and towing of both vehicles from the accident scene.
Taking place Sunday March 3 before 11 a.m., the crash at Fourth and Broadway resulted from failure to stop at a stop sign, resulting in damage to both vehicles.
Also damaged was the side of Round 2 Resale, located in the former Plombon Furniture Store.
“As far as I know right now it’s somebody that didn’t stop at a stop sign,” Stanley Fire Chief Korey Hagenson said from the scene of the two-car accident shortly before noon Sunday. “One of them hit the building and broke a window.” Asked for more, Hagenson said he needed further review.
“I haven’t watched the video yet,” he said of the crash.
With Stanley Truck Sales on hand to remove both, the vehicles were identified as red Jeep Liberty and a white four door Chevy. Visible damage to the Jeep Liberty was on the driver’s side, while visible damage to the four door Chevy was on the rear passenger.
The accident saw response from Stanley Fire, Boyd-Edson-Delmar EMS, and Stanley Police. Neither driver was immediately identified in the crash.
Reached on Monday, Boyd-Edson-Delmar Fire Chief Ron Patten confirmed an individual was transported, but had few other details.
“I know they took a patient in to Mayo in Eau Claire,” he said. “That’s really all I know about it.”
Attempts to follow up with Hagenson were unsuccessful before press time.
